Awards Night
On July 25, 2008, the 4th FMA Festival capped its activities and held its Gala Night at the Kalantiao Hall in Sarabia Hotel, Iloilo City.
The following prestigious Kampilan awards for individual achievement were presented that night.
1. Dieter Knuettel (Germany) - promotion of Modern Arnis in Europe
2. Prof.Armando Soteco (Philippines) – promotion of Modern Arnis and Education in the Philippines
3. Bram Frank (USA) – promotion of Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) blade combatives
4. Steven Dowd (USA) - promotion of FMA thru print media and the internet
5. Engr.Jose Dion Diaz (Philippines) – promotion of FMA through the government program for Indigenous games
6. Jay de Leon (USA) - promotion of FMA through print media and the internet
7. Alexander Pisarkin (Russia) - pioneer of Modern Arnis in Russia
8. Edessa Ramos (Switzerland) – promotion of Modern Arnis through networking and print media in Europe
9. Ramon Yee, Mayor of Cabatuan, Iloilo (Philippines) – special award for hosting Modern Arnis events
10. GM Remy Presas – Lapu-lapu award (posthumous) for founding and dedicating his life to promoting Modern Arnis worldwide.
